As a general standard, we develop our courseware documentation to include hands-on exercises and a documented step-by-step approach. We provide many screen captures of examples and additional exercises at the end of the chapter.

Excel 2007 Advanced - Functions and Formulas
One of our previous clients asked us to develop an excel formula and functions courseware that focused on a specific set of functions. These functions are commonly used to manipulate data in a spreadsheet. They wanted their employees to be exposed to these useful functions in order to be more productive. As a result, we have developed courseware with the following topics:

- Formula Manipulation Review - Methods to enter and check Formulas,
     Fill Handles, and Absolute Values.
- Managing Data - Named Cells, Ranges, Box and Menu Options, Paste
     Names, Create Names, and Apply Names.
- If Logic - IF Function, Nested IF, AND / OR Logic, and IS Functions.
- Array Formulas - Array Formulas, Creating an Array Formula, Summing a
     Range that Contains Errors, Count the Differences in Ranges, Check for
     Specific Values in a Range and Sum Product Function.
- Lookup Functions - VLOOKUP Function, MATCH Function, INDEX
     Function, MATCH with INDEX Function, VLOOKUP with IF, and LOOKUP
     Function.
- Database Functions - Database Basics, Database Function Basics,
     DAVERAGE Function, DCOUNT Function, DMAX Function, DSUM
     Function and DGET Function.
- Data Tables - One-variable Data Table, Two-variable Data Table, and
     One-variable Data Table with Multiple Formulas.
- Data Series - Linear Series, Date Series, Using a Stop Value, and
     Creating a Growth Trend Series.

Although the students may not use all of the functions discussed, the exposure to Excel's capabilities is a valuable asset to help solve difficult problems that may arise.

PowerPoint 2007 Advanced - Building a Template Using Graphics
Another customer wanted an advanced PowerPoint class to develop powerful graphic templates. The graphic object in these templates can be used in presentations to catch the eye of the audience. We created procedures that provide different ways to display a bullet item such as pivoting arrows pointing to bullets, or rotating bullets that would appear when the bullet is needed.
